Unlike competing products, PlasDECK® proudly presents the results of tests in terms of product durability and resistance to external factors. In the Patented formula section, we presented the difference in the PlasDECK® formula, supported by the granted patents. But what does it look like in practice?
The durability of PlasDECK® decks has been tested according to SAE J2527. Deck sections were subjected to a UV-resistance test using a xenon arc, which simulates nominal conditions of exposure to direct sunlight.
The picture below shows 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 hours of exposure in sequence, where according to SAE J2527, every 500 hours corresponds to one year of normal exposure to sunlight. The test conditions consisted of exposure for 16 hours to UV radiation at a temperature of 70*C. Then it was condensed at 50*C for 8 hours. The photo below shows the results of the research.
As you can see, the color of the material is practically no different, and there are absolutely no signs of degradation of the material. This explains in the best way why yachts on which PlasDECK® synthetic decks were installed even 7 or 10 years ago still look simply great.
